Cake Cutting, VE Day 1945 Street Party

Beech Road, Harrogate, Yorkshire

The photo is of my late mum, Pam Black, cutting the cake at the 1945 VE Day street party when she was 6 years old. She’s surrounded by her mum and dad, and some of the 5 sisters she had at the time.

Families 75 years on are all sorts of different shapes and sizes (usually smaller), yet still have much in common.

The Family Support Group has been launched in recognition of both the variety of families and the common issues they face.

Bringing families together for mutual support.

Stuart Black.
