Fostering reform - what we think

The Government have made proposals for reform of Fostering.

We have made a submission to their consultation, which you can read here.

Our principal point is that reform requires that the regulatory system is changed so that Foster Carers can no longer be subject to the threat of “deregistration” by unprofessional Fostering agencies that can currently act as judge. jury and executioner if a Foster Carer challenges them.

Regulation should be nationalised in the same way that nursing, law, and policing is.
